Mortgages in Thailand

Mortgages can be obtained in Thailand quite easily if you are a Thai national however the goalposts are forever being moved for foreigners applying for loans. The paperwork is also laborious (especially for buyers without a Thai spouse). As of writing (June 2009) we are aware of very few banks offering loans to foreigners and they have heavy qualifying conditions (must have work permit, must be a joint mortgage and one person must be Thai etc). As the market changes and lending conditions become less restrictive we will advise our clients via our newsletter so please go to submit e-newsletter and enter your details for future notices.
